Our Service Delivery Partners

Durham Youth Services has a business model based on developing effective partnerships to collaboratively serve at-risk and homeless youth in the Durham Region. 

Partnerships are very important to Durham Youth Services. We fully realize our success is dependent upon strong, cooperative, successful partnerships in the public and private sector.

To that end, we operate from a number of key principles for community development as well as service delivery. The DYS business plan has been developed with the input of youth and ensures the ongoing involvement of youth. It also nurtures and develops non-traditional partners in the provision of youth housing and services, such as labour and business.

We recognize there are many fine, local community organizations that serve the community, and in particular, youth very well. 

In addition to the best practices we incorporate in our service delivery, we are committed to offering support to our youth-serving partners in two ways: first, by taking a holistic approach to housing services that integrates all aspects of care, and second, by dedicating financial resources as need through “purchase of service” arrangements.
