Fresh Start Kits

Finding safe housing is exciting, but it is also overwhelming and intimidating. With very limited funds, the cost of first-and-last month’s rent for an unfurnished room or apartment in today’s housing market leaves youth with little ability to afford the basic items needed for independent living. 

When clients move from our shelter into housing, they are provided with a “fresh start kit” filled with household essentials like cookware, bedding, personal hygiene items, towels, cleaning and laundry supplies and grocery gift cards.
