Nightstop Driver

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Nightstop Volunteer Driver.

We take volunteering seriously and want to help volunteers feel as prepared and supported as possible.

A member of the DYS team will contact you within five business days of receiving your application to discuss your application in more detail and to arrange the next steps. If you agree to move forward with your application, we will arrange a follow-up as part of the next stage. All volunteers are also required to complete onboard training.

Our volunteer recruitment panel will be presented with the complete volunteer application package for approval. Please note we aim to promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential.

CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK (Vulnerable Sector Screening)
Durham Youth Services is committed to the protection and safety of its clients, participants, employees, and volunteers and responsible for recruiting individuals with the personal and professional qualifications essential to ensuring the best possible Nightstop experience for volunteers and the youth we support. Therefore, Vulnerable Sector Screening is part of the recruitment process for all employees and volunteers. Any costs associated with obtaining Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) will be reimbursed by Durham Youth Services Nightstop program.
Durham Youth Services will only accept original Vulnerable Sector Screenings dated no later than six months prior to the offer of volunteering. Only applicants that are deemed not to present a current risk to the health and safety of our clients will proceed to the next stage of the process. All applicants must submit a Vulnerable Sector Screening with negative results prior to being accepted as a volunteer.
