A Community Partner Needs Our Help!!

The 2022 Backpack Program at Simcoe Hall Settlement House is underway!

 

Last year their program provided more than 1000 filled backpacks to children and youth in Durham Region.

Volunteers work through the summer months to fill each backpack with grade-level appropriate items and DYS wants to help them because the beginning of a school year should be exciting and fun!  Some of the items needed are:

• Binders
• Spiral Notebooks
• Subject Dividers
• Index cards
• Rulers
• 2 Pencils
• Pencil crayons
• Ballpoint pens
• Erasers
• Stapler and staples
• Glue Sticks
• Geometry sets

We have a “big bag” ready at Joanne’s House and will be accepting donations for this great program until August 5th.  Please label your donations “backpack program” and include your email so we can thank you!
